This post is all about the best foundation makeup for eczema sufferers.
Do you suffer from dry flaky skin on your face or facial eczema and find it difficult to find a base makeup that doesn’t leave your skin feeling flared up or flaky? If so, you’re in luck!
I have been in the same situation and know how difficult it can be as an eczema sufferer to find a good foundation. That’s why I have compiled a list of the absolute best foundations for dry skin and eczema.
Additionally, this list will include both drugstore and high end products to accommodate any budget. These products will not only aid in hiding a flare up, but they will not further irritate your skin while doing so.
As always, what works for one person may not work exactly the same for another. That’s why I recommend always testing out new products first to rule out an allergic reaction to any ingredients.
So, without further ado, let’s get into the list!
The Best Foundation Makeup for Eczema Sufferers
All of the following products I have tried personally and continue to repurchase when I use them up. A good majority of them are drugstore products because honestly, there’s no reason to spend more than you need to on skincare or makeup. There’s so many amazing drugstore products on the market that will do the job for a fraction of the price!

General Tips for Wearing Foundation With Eczema
Technique
This goes for every skin type, but before applying foundation, it’s super important to always make sure your skin is properly hydrated. Here’s the steps I take to ensure my skin is properly moisturized before applying foundation:
- Begin the process with a freshly cleansed face
- Massage in a pure natural oil (like Argon or Rose Hip Seed oil)
- Next, apply a hydrating cream like Cera Ve Moisturizing Cream. Face lotions and moisturizers usually aren’t hydrating enough for me so that’s why I opt for Cera Ve Moisturizing Cream.
- Let those layers of hydration soak in to your skin for a few minutes before applying a small amount of barrier balm to seal everything in. Neither Aquaphor nor Vaseline agree with my skin so I opt for Theraplex Barrier Balm.

How to Apply
A dampened beauty blender is a great tool to apply foundation to eczema because you aren’t compromising moisture and it blends everything together seamlessly.
Takeaway: Layering is key with making your foundation look flawless when you have dry skin and eczema.
What to Look For
The foundations that always catch my eye and I know will be a good fit for my skin are the ones that contain words like “radiant”, “luminous”, and “glow.” Those with eczema have a predisposition to their skin appearing dull and dry. So the best foundations are the ones that are dewy and hydrating.
