1. Add Blinds to Windows
One of the best ways to elevate a space while simultaneously refreshing it is to add window treatment such as curtains or blinds, or both!
2. Switch Out Rug
Adding in or swapping out an old rug in your bedroom can work wonders for changing the entire look of the room.
If you’re in doubt on size, always go a little bigger than the bed and opt for an 8×10 area rug and position it at least halfway under the bed width wise. Also, ensure that at least one foot of rug is peaking out on all sides.
Bonus points for rugs also adding a cozy element to the room.
3. Update Your Bedding
Switching out your duvet cover, sheets, and pillows, is a fabulous way to completely change the vibe of your room.
I love the depth and warmth this burnt orange bedding adds and accentuates the boho vibe.
4. Minimize Clutter on Side Tables
If you’re struggling to refresh your bedroom night stands, when in doubt opt for minimal decor.
I personally love the idea and simplicity of only having a lamp, that way you have room for all your nighttime needs such as a cup, lotion, etc.
5. Add Matching Lamps to Sides of Bed
Refresh your bedroom and make it look super put-together by investing in some nice bedside table lamps that match each other.
It’s amazing how much this small touch can really pull together a bedroom and make it look professionally decorated.
6. Deep Clean Everything! (Including baseboards, walls, and behind furniture)
Nothing says REFRESH like a good deep cleaning.
That means cleaning all the places you usually put off such as windows, behind the bed, night tables, dressers, etc. as well as along baseboards and even the walls!
7. Paint The Walls
If you’re really wanting to make a change in your bedroom, painting the walls will add an instant refresh.
While light and airy has been trendy for a while, why not go full mood board and opt for a dark, sultry tone like the one below.
8. Update Light Fixtures
9. Get Rid of Furniture That Doesn’t Serve a Purpose
As a minimalist who prefers to keep my rooms functional, my rule of thumb is, if it doesn’t serve a purpose, it doesn’t need to be sitting around in my home.
If you find that your bedroom is feeling cluttered, a great way to refresh it might be to remove some pieces of furniture that aren’t functional.
Try to keep it just the basics (i.e. bed, nightstands, dressers, lamp).
You’d be amazed at how much space this will free up, and how much more open and airy it will make your bedroom feel.
10. Add Mirrors
Mirrors are a great way to refresh a space by making a small space feel larger.
11. Upgrade Your Bed Frame
I don’t know about you, but I am living for a bold, statement bed frame like this big, cozy marshmallow bed frame.
If you want to keep thing simple, yet still want a noticeable change, upgrade your bed frame and see how much it can change up your bedroom.
12. Add Plants
Plants add a natural refresh to any room by providing an organic feel to the space.
13. Mount Your TV on a Wall
Free up surface space and declutter dresser tops by mounting your tv on the wall.
It also happens to give the room a more elevated look.
14. Storage Solutions for Dresser Drawers
While you’re refreshing your bedroom, this is a great time to go through and organize the drawers of your side table and dresser.
Grab some organizers to make it Pinterest worthy!
15. Add Your Favorite Candle & Flowers On Bedside Table
One of the best ways to top off a bedroom refresh is to add a fresh vase of your favorite flowers and spark up a clean smelling candle.
