This blog post is all about my quick house cleaning routine.
It’s no secret I like to keep a clean house. I mean, anyone who knows me knows that keeping a clean and organized house is directly linked to my mental health.
I know first-hand that maintaining a clean home can seem like a never ending task. There’s always just one more thing that needs doing. That’s why I have developed a weekly cleaning routine to manage exactly what gets cleaned and when.
Additionally, it’s worth mentioning that I do have a fur baby who is constantly making messes for me to clean up. He keeps me on my toes for sure!
I swear, trying to keep the house spotless with him in it has to be similar to having a toddler running around lol. I have a whole post here full of great hacks to keeping a house clean with a dog.
What does my quick house cleaning routine look like?
My cleaning system entails reserving one day a week in which I devote a good portion of the day to cleaning. I devote a few hours, usually on a Saturday, to giving the most used rooms in our home some TLC.
Throughout the week, I complete what I like to call maintenance tasks. This includes putting things away in the correct spot, taking out the trash as needed, doing dishes, and spot-vacuuming anywhere that needs it.
These are obviously the basics and something I can’t neglect all week. Furthermore, it leaves me with more time to focus on the nitty-gritty deeper cleaning on my actual cleaning days.
In addition to this, I also have deep deep cleaning days, which happen about once every month or so.
On these in depth cleaning days, I pinpoint one room and devote most of my day to cleaning anything and everything in it. This also includes going through cabinets/drawers/closets, de-cluttering, and re-organizing.
But for the most part, my week to week cleaning routine stays pretty consistent.
What do I use to keep myself on track?
A cleaning checklist, of course!
Having a cleaning checklist is a life saver
If you’re like me and save the majority of your cleaning for one day each week, a tangible cleaning checklist will be extremely helpful for you.
Go ahead and print out some copies, stick it on your fridge with a cute magnet, and use it as a guide to check off as you go on your next cleaning day!

That pretty much all that I do weekly to keep my house tidy. I plan to divulge more in depth for each room and my deep cleaning method in a future post. But for now, I hope you found this helpful!
